Sales Training Alone Does Not Work. Here Is What Does.
I am not a sales trainer. I am a CRO and VP of Sales who has trained more than 2,000 salespeople across the globe, then stayed to manage them until the training showed up in closed deals. That second half is the part everyone skips, and it is the reason most sales training is a waste of money.
Why most sales training is a waste of money
You bring in a trainer for two days. The team is fired up. They get a binder, a framework, maybe a role-play. Everyone feels sharper on Friday. By the following Wednesday they are back to selling exactly the way they did before, because nobody changed what happens after the training ends.
Training is not the product. Behavior change is. And behavior only changes when someone senior inspects it, coaches it, and holds the line every single week. A trainer flies home. A sales leader stays.
I am not a trainer. I am a CRO who trains, then runs the team.
There is a difference between someone who teaches a workshop and someone who owns the number. I have carried a quota, built the playbook, and sat in the deals myself. When I train your team, I am not teaching theory I read in a book. I am teaching exactly how I would close your deals, because I have closed deals like yours.
Then I do the part a trainer cannot: I manage the team to make sure it works. I sit in on calls, I inspect the pipeline, I coach the reps who are drifting, and I keep raising the standard until the new way of selling is simply the way your team sells.
2,000 salespeople, then managed to the number
Over 20-plus years I have trained more than 2,000 salespeople on four continents: SDRs, closers, channel partners and whole teams, in startups and in large organizations. The training was never the point. The point was what happened next: deals closed, cycles shortened, and the number went up and stayed up.
That is the test I hold myself to. Not how good the session felt on the day, but whether revenue actually moved a quarter later. It does.
What real sales training looks like
- It starts from your actual deals, your buyers and your real objections, not a generic curriculum
- It is taught by an operator who still sells, so the reps respect it and use it
- It is followed by weekly coaching, call reviews and pipeline inspection, not a binder on a shelf
- It is enforced by a leader who owns the number, so the new behavior sticks
- It is measured in closed revenue and shorter cycles, not in attendance and smiles
Training without management is theater
If you only want a one-off workshop to tick a box, I am the wrong person, and honestly you should keep your money. But if you want your team to sell better and keep selling better, you need the training and the management together, from the same person, until it holds. That is what a fractional CRO does, and it is why my clients watch the numbers actually move.
Common questions
Do you offer sales training?
Yes, but not as a standalone workshop. I train your team as part of owning your sales, which means I also manage the team afterward to make sure the training turns into closed deals. I have trained more than 2,000 salespeople worldwide.
Why does most sales training not work?
Because the trainer leaves and nobody changes what happens next. Behavior only sticks when a senior leader coaches it, inspects it and holds the standard every week. Training without ongoing management is theater.
Who does the training?
I do. I am a CRO and VP of Sales who still sells hands-on. I teach exactly how I would close your deals, from your real pipeline, not a generic curriculum out of a book.
How is this different from hiring a sales trainer?
A trainer runs a session and flies home. I train your team and then stay to manage them to the number: call reviews, pipeline inspection and weekly coaching until the new way of selling is simply how your team sells.
How much does it cost?
Training is part of a fractional CRO engagement, which runs $2,000 to $12,000 a month depending on how hands-on you need me. Use the calculator on the pricing page for a number in about a minute.
